What is the procedure to set General POA?

General POA setup gives rights to POA holder to take care of day to-day activities in client account on behalf of client. General POA holder does not have authority to open or close or to modify the account on behalf of client.


  1. Get notarized complete copy of General POA. Required original Notary attestation.
  2. Clause should clearly contain the D
  3. P number of client along with rights specified to handle DP account. (There is no specific POA format. It depends on client about providing rights to POA holder.)
  4. Send General POA directly to HO. (Do not follow WIRE/Pre-modification process)
  5. Check status in Back office>>Utilities>>Utility services>>Modification.
