At the time of Data punching an error message is shown as ?PAN already exists?, then what should be done?

There are three possibilities to get PAN exists message.


a. The A/C is already active with some other sub-broker. -  In this case, approach your client to shift the same trading & DP code from one branch to another by following change of mapping process.


b. The A/C is already closed. - In this case, the old trading A/C will only be re-activated. For this BA needs to provide the New KYC with his old client code and send it to HO with all the relevant Proofs. BA should also punch the data in single KYC by selecting only ‘CDSL’ option.


c. In case of change of name (excluding marriage case or having Gazette copy)– In this case new trading code will be allotted. Old trading and DP account need to be closed and open new account with new name by providing new KYC with latest documents.
